Task

You will recreate an era of American history  using web 2.0 tools, and teach it to your class through your creative presentation.

You will be spending this time doing research (both on-line and using library books) and designing your presentation.  When conducting your research be sure to keep track of your sources and prepare a complete Works Cited page (following the Ramaz Citing Sources format).

 

 

Guidelines

 

 
Research:

 Be sure to thoroughly and clearly answer each question listed under your assigned topic.

 Take notes on 4X6 index cards.  The number of cards you need is indicated next to each guided question on the resource page.  You can handwrite or type the cards in Microsoft Word.  If you type them, remember- no copying and pasting off the internet.  Also, you will be responsible to print out the cards at home.  Here is a note card template  that you can use for the cards.  Save it in your grade 7/ history folder before you begin your  work.  Make sure to cite your source on the bottom of each card.

4.  Use at least TWO book sources and THREE internet sources.  Make sure to cite your sources at the bottom of each card. 

 

Presentation: Presentation of information must be packaged to includes:

1.  one introductory slide (media center) with links to all parts of the presentation.  Some ideas for the media center include a library, museum, store, factory, etc. (PPT)

2. A virtual tour through time using timeline, minimum 5 dates. (LIFE or Capzle)

3.  A geographic trip to three or more relevant locations (Google Maps)

4. A media tour (Prezi or Animoto )

5. An interactive quiz with three questions only at the end of the tour. (Poll Everywhere or PPt)

6.   Any interactive element to present your information  (voki)

7.  A discussion with two opposing opinions in AMAP

8.  A DELICIOUS list to keep track of all the pieces of your presentation

9. Use of at least two other web 2.0 tools listed on Ms. Rubin's delicious page to present your information

Groups:

8. Google Docs:

Each group should be sure to divide the work equitably among its members.  You will be required to keep a running list in Google Docs  indicating which group member was in charge of which slides, and which resources you used, and notes for your oral presentation.

Notes

Be sure to include at least:  TWO book sources, THREE Internet sources  and FIFTEEN primary source images.   You must also include at least one primary source sound and video clip, and one music clip from that era. 

Keep a record of all sources.  You may use your textbook as a source.  Paste the web link of each source you use in your Google Document.

 

Web 2.0  Tools Create a delicious list for all your completed projects.  You should have one list for each group.  You will need to submit the list at the end of the project.
Oral Presentation IN Google Docs:

What you plan to discuss in your oral presentation for each part of the presentation.

Links to all of your web sources for that segment. 

Name or names of people in your group who created the segment.

 

 

What you will submit: 1.  Printed Notes for oral presentation from Google Docs.

2.  Link to Delicious  List with links to all parts of the presentation.

3.  a printed rubric with all items checked off as you do them

Due Date: Note cards: May 7.

Final Project:  May 30th.  There will be no extensions.

Please check the calendar for individual deadlines.

 

Grade: Keep checking the rubric to make sure you included all of the required elements.
